Ecco-tini

Canella Domani

clip_image002This delicious wine cocktail is perfect for a cold winter evening, and a sure hit around the holidays.

  • Best to prepare 1 hour before serving
  • In a medium pot, heat one bottle of Ecco Domani Merlot
  • Stir in 10 tablespoons of sugar until dissolved
  • In a strainer, combine:

· 1 orange peel

· 1 lemon peel

· 10 cloves

1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder

Let strainer sit in heating wine for about 20 minutes. (Make sure mixture is not boiling)

Allow mixture to cool, or serve hot

Remove strainer and pour liquid into glass mug

Garnish with cinnamon stick or orange slice

Makes 4 Servings

Dolce Domani

clip_image003This tart yet sweet concoction is a versatile wine cocktail for any occasion from a fall fireside dinner to an elegant evening gathering with friends.

  • Muddle half of a lime with 2.5 teaspoons of sugar until all the juice is extracted
  • Add 3 oz. of Ecco Domani’s Merlot
  • Add ice into a shaker and shake vigorously for at least 6 seconds
  • Pour all ingredients into a lowball glass or wineglass
  • Garnish with a lime wheel

Domani Limonata

  • Muddle 1 / 2 lemon with 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Combine 2 oz. of Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio with:
  • 1 oz. of peach juice
  • 1 oz. of apple juice
  • 3 / 4 oz. of guava juice (may substitute with cranberry juice)
  • Pour with ice into a shaker and shake vigorously
  • Pour into a glass tumbler
  • Garnish with a lemon wheel

Ecco Cioccolato

  • Muddle 6 raspberries with 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Add 2.5 oz. of Ecco Domani Chianti
  • Stir in 1.5 teaspoons of sweet cocoa powder
  • Pour into a shaker and shake vigorously
  • Strain into a martini glass
  • Layer whipped cream onto drink
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings

  • Muddle a slice of watermelon with one teaspoon of sugar
  • Add 1oz. of pineapple juice
  • Add 2.5 oz. of Ecco Domani’s Pinot Grigio
  • Add ice into a boston shaker and shake vigorously for at least 6 seconds
  • Pour all ingredients into a lowball glass
  • Garnish with a thin slice of watermelon

Ecco Frutta

  • Muddle 1 peeled kiwi
  • Add 2 tablespoons of mango chutney (may substitute with 2 oz. mango juice)

  • Add 2 oz. of Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio
  • Pour into a shaker and shake vigorously
  • Pour into a highball glass
  • Garnish with a kiwi slice

  • Muddle 1 teaspoon of fresh ginger (may substitute with 2 oz of ginger ale)
  • Add 1.5 oz. apple cider
  • Add 1/4 teaspoons of Chai tea powder (may substitute with cinnamon)
  • Add 2 oz. of Ecco Domani Chianti
  • Shake and strain into a martini glass or lowball rock glass (if served hot)
  • Garnish with a ginger root slice or apple slice

Vita Domani

  • Muddle 5 red seedless grapes with 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • Add 1 oz. of lychee juice (may substitute with pineapple juice)
  • Add 2.5 oz. of Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio
  • Add a splash of lemon juice
  • Pour with ice into a shaker and shake vigorously
  • Pour into a glass goblet
  • Garnish with a skewer of lychee fruit or grapes

Besides The Delightful Cocktails, this Pinot Grigio is a great summer wine: twice as good and about half the price of a much overrated brand that seems to make it to every restaurant wine list these days. Great quaff and terrifically food friendly.
