THE DEBUT OF BROADWAY’S LEADING COUPLE

MARIN MAZZIE & JASON DANIELEY

“OPPOSITE YOU”

MARCH 24 – APRIL 4

FEINSTEIN’S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed “Best of New York” by New York Magazine, and “an invaluable New York institution” by The New York Post, continues its 10th Anniversary season with the debut engagement of one of Broadway’s leading couples MARIN MAZZIE and JASON DANIELEY from March 24 to April 4. Their show “Opposite You” embraces composers from Irving Berlin and Harold Arlen to Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim. Throughout, Mazzie and Danieley display the soaring voices, engaging charm, and natural chemistry that led the San Francisco Chronicle to call their performances “Broadway’s golden couple in music they were born to sing.” The evening was first presented at Lincoln Center’s American Songbook Series and was released as a CD by PS Classics. All shows are at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

MARIN MAZZIE, the critically-acclaimed actress and singer, has been heard in many of the country’s major symphony halls, concert venues, and starred in some of the most memorable musicals on the Broadway stage and London’s West End. Having most recently starred on Broadway and in London as the “Lady of the Lake” in Monty Python’s Spamalot, she also received Tony, Drama Desk and Olivier nominations and won the Outer Critics Circle Award for her performance as “Lily/Kate” in the hit revival of Kiss Me Kate. Other Broadway credits include “Mother” in Ragtime (Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics nominations), “Clara” in Sondheim’s Passion (Tony nomination), “Aldonza” in Man of La Mancha, Into the Woods and Big River.

Marin played a recurring character on the CBS television sitcom “Still Standing,” with additional guest appearances on “Without A Trace,” “Numb3rs,” “Jake In Progress,” “Stacked,” “Pryor Offenses,” and “One Life To Live.” Her other television appearances include many on PBS Great Performances: “Passion,” “My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies,” and “My Favorite Broadway: The Love Songs,” all on DVD, and also the long-running PBS series “An Evening At Pops,” the Boston Pops’ tribute to Jerry Herman.

JASON DANIELEY – Broadway actor, singer and concert performer – has been entertaining audiences from New York’s Theatre District and London’s West End to Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. Jason most recently starred on Broadway in Kander & Ebb’s Curtains (Outer Critics Circle Nomination). He made his Broadway debut as the title character in Candide, directed by theater legend Harold Prince (Theatre World Award, Drama League Award, and Drama Desk nomination). He took it all off for The Full Monty in the original Broadway and West End casts. A frequent guest of New York’s acclaimed City Center Encores! series, Jason has had leading roles in A Tree Grows In Brooklyn and Strike Up The Band.

Many of the country’s leading orchestras have invited Jason to be a guest artist, including the New York, Boston, and Philly Pops, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and St. Louis, Utah, Minnesota, and Buffalo Symphonies. He’s starred in fully staged concert versions of Bernstein’s Candide and Gershwin’s Of Thee I Sing and Let ‘Em Eat Cake (conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas) with the San Francisco Symphony, as well as other major concert versions of Carousel as “Enoch Snow” with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and South Pacific as “Lt. Cable,” both at Carnegie Hall. The latter was MarinAndJason.com taped and aired on PBS Great Performances in Spring of 2006. Jason recently released a solo CD with his band The Frontier Heroes: self-titled Jason Danieley & The Frontier Heroes on the PS Classics label.
